Brittney Jacobson

Brittney is a NAMS Certified Nutrition Consultant, ACE Certified Personal Trainer, Mindset and Motivation Coach, and a Licensed Massage Therapist. She is a mother of an 11-year-old girl, Nora. She loves all things fitness and food! Her journey started a lot like some of yours, she found herself newly graduated from massage school, working at Pizza Hut, and 55lbs heavier than she is today. She was unhappy with herself, inactive, and had no passion. She wanted to change. Nearly 12 years later she has many passions, a purpose, a career, and a happier outlook on life. Her journey has had a lot of ups, downs, twists, and turns. Her goals were reached out of order and with many unexpected challenges. She continues to set new goals and learn from all of their pursuits. She enjoys running, cycling, triathlon, bodybuilding, hiking, yoga, and time spent outdoors. Aside from helping clients achieve their weight loss and maintenance goals, she also aspires to help them educate their kids on healthy eating. Brittney received her degree at Eastern Oregon University in Interdisciplinary Studies where she studied exercise science, sociology, and anthropology. She is currently working toward her MFA in creative writing.

Some of her proud achievements and adventures include: Running 4 marathons, competing in 4 bodybuilding competitions, completing a Half Ironman, many triathlons and century rides, and 3 ultramarathons!

Angie Harris

Angie is a Licensed Massage Therapist, NAMS Certified Nutrition Consultant, Mindset and Motivation coach and Functional Nutrition Lifestyle Practitioner.  Angie grew up in La Grande in an active family. Her dad was an ultramarathon runner, but Angie didn’t find her love for fitness until she was in her early thirties. She spent most of her late teens and twenties overweight, therefore understands first hand the mental and physical battle that it takes to truly change your life and become the best version of yourself. She believes that each day provides us with the opportunity to be better than yesterday. Take the lessons you learned today and carry them into tomorrow!

In early 2019 Angie entered into an unexpected health challenge that ultimately brought the diagnosis of Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. Having always believed that food could be used as medicine she pursued a functional medicine approach to healing. This path led her to study functional nutrition. She now has the ability to collaborate with clients as part of their healthcare team in a new way, providing diet and lifestyle modifications to supplement traditional health care practices.

Some of her physical achievements include finishing 35 half marathons, 9 marathons, 2 triathlons, and for fun on her 40th birthday she ran 40 miles!! The unwavering support of her husband Mark and her two teenage daughters make each one of these accomplishments much sweeter.

NAMS Nutrition Consultant

Kelcey is a certified nutrition consultant through the National Academy of Metabolic Science and is also a Mindset Motivation coach. She works as the office manager at her family’s manufacturing business as well as being the office manager at a local truck repair facility. She has lived in the La Grande area her entire life and considers this community home.

Kelcey’s nutrition and fitness journey began in January of 2018 when she signed up as a client of Brittney’s through The Diet Doc La Grande. She was extremely overweight, unhealthy, and unhappy with where her life was headed. She had struggled since high school with finding the right program to help her lose weight and maintain the loss. When she found The Diet Doc she was at her heaviest weight she had been. In working with Brittney, she was able to lose 150 pounds and gain a wealth of knowledge about nutrition and the mindset it takes to live her best life. In January of 2019, Kelcey decided to work on her fitness goals and enlisted in Brittney to develop a training plan for her. She has since found a love for running and has competed in several local races and in 2021 she completed her longest run, finishing Run the Rock 50K ultramarathon at Smith Rock State Park, which is her favorite fitness-related accomplishment to date!

Kelcey developed a deep passion for nutrition and fitness through her own journey and uses that passion to help others who are in a place in their lives that she was once in not long ago.

Personal Trainer

Cheri Shinn

Cheri is a personal trainer and nutrition coach. She has worked as stylist for 32 years. It was a very natural crossover for her into personal training as her career as a stylist included listening and helping people feel their best.  Since she spends a great deal of her free time at the gym it felt easy for her to say “YES,” when her coach and owner of the gym she trained at asked her to be his next intern.

She has been a sports enthusiast all her life playing volleyball, basketball, softball, running, hiking, bowling, golfing, and most currently, bodybuilding. Cheri has ran several 5k’s, 2 half marathons and competed in two body building shows, winning her pro card in 2019 in the WNBF. She loves to help any client, at any age. From beginner to well versed in the gym environment or those rehabbing or working around an injury, as she has done herself. She understands the desire to keep working towards your goals, even if you have to change course. She also believes wanting to learn what your body is capable of is a goal in of itself. She listens to what your needs are and is excited to be working with you.

Cheri will begin her journey at Be Well Studio taking personal training clients, both online and in person November 1. Contact her today to schedule!
